An administrative aide from the Office of the City Mayor of Olongapo is representing the Philippines in the Intellectual Property (IP) HELP DESK Seminar in Singapore on November 29- December 1, 2011.

Richard Estrella, 32 years-old, resident of Brgy. Mabayuan, Olongapo City, finished his Associate in Computer Science studies at the Network Computer and Business College in Olongapo. He currently works as administrative aide and has served as government employee for three (3) years.

Estrella also attended the IP Help Desk Seminar in Taguig City last August 25, 2011.
The IP Help Desk in Olongapo City Public Library was launched last October 13, 2011 to assist residents of Olongapo and nearby areas in the protection of intellectual property.

IP Philippines Director General Atty. Ricardo Blancaflor and Olongapo First Lady Anne Gordon, together with the officers from the Bureau of trademarks, IP Field Operators Unit, led the launching.
IP is an asset that any person can own, sell or license; discreet types of IP are patents, design, trademark and copyrights that obtain from creativity and innovation.

Mayor Gordon added that his administration is “committed to give not only department heads but also rank and file employee the opportunities they deserve for their professional advancement and to ensure that the city government could provide the best possible service to the public.”
