325 axed Pasig City cops ordered to retrain in Subic
By ARIS R. ILAGAN, Manila Bulletin
Director General Arturo C. Lomibao, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), ordered yesterday 325 policemen who were relieved from their posts at the Pasig City police following the discovery of a shabu compound in Barangay Sto. Tomas, Pasig to undergo the PNP Values and Leadership Course in a police reform school at the Subic Bay Freeport.
According to PNP spokesman Senior Supt. Samuel Pagdilao, the first batch of 65 Pasig policemen will begin tomorrow, Monday, the 15-day retraining at the PNP Values and Leadership School in Subic.
The PNP Values and Leadership School was established during the term of then PNP chief Director General Edgar Aglipay to reform "bad eggs" in the PNP.
Lomibao said the Values and Leadership Course reorients policemen on the basic principles of police leadership, Christian leadership, purpose-driven life, police ethical standards, personal financial management, and team-building.
"The Values and Leadership Course is not a punishment. But a re-training program to correct some personal lapses and remind them of how they are supposed to conduct themselves as law enforcers and public servants," the PNP chief emphasized.
Pagdilao said the 325 personnel of the Pasig police were divided into five groups and will undergo retraining in groups with 65 members each.
