Dexter Ordona wins 2006 TAKBO


In a successful benefit fun run held last Saturday dubbed Takbo Alay sa Kabataan at Boy Scouts ng Olongapo (TAKBO), Dexter Ordona, 23 years old from Brgy Sta Rita, bagged the gold medal in the men’s division followed by Ryan Gutierez and Edwin Gutierez for silver and bronze respectively. Ordonez led the pack from the starting line in East Tapinac Oval Track in which Yang Elane (representing Mayor Bong Gordon) fired the go ahead shot at 8 in the morning.

The top female finishers were Rinalyn Santos, 12 years old from Kalalake, Jasperry Buenafe and Maricar Buenafe both from East Tapinac. The awarding ceremonies was held at Rizal Triangle Sports Complex where Councilor Edwin J. Piano and SK Federation Chairman Robine Rose Buenafe honored not only the winning athletes but all those who participated in the event.

Mario Esquillo, TAKBO Coordinator, for his part thanked Mayor Bong Gordon, the City Council, SK, YMCA, BSP-JLGC Model Troop, the Maharlika Communications Foundation, Inc., Olongapo Rescue Team, PNP, TMB, Arch Jonathan Quimzon, Soroptomist International, Venture Club, Rotary Club and all those who supported the event.
