Olongapo Ring Overpass

The Olongapo City Council upon the sponsorship of the Majority Party Councilors approved last Wednesday the funding for the construction of Mayor James "Bong" Gordon, Jr's Olongapo Ring Overpass Project located at the Ulo Ng Apo Rotunda. The mayor believe that this will be the first ring overpass in the country and maybe in the world.

The project is expected to be completed by December 30, 2006 in time for the Fiesta Celebration which is being Chaired by the city's first lady Anne Marie Gordon.

The conceptual design was done by City Planner Arch. Tony Karr Balde

  • Unless they construct a huge, tall bust of the Apo, the latter should remain below in the present location otherwise the overpass'walkway & roof would totally obscure it.

I would hate to leave Olongapo for a few months just to avoid the monstrous traffic this landmark project would create, but I think the majority wouldn't mind the inconvenience for such a marvelous showcase. Sacrifice for Excellence!
