OLONGAPO TOPNOTCHER SA POC

‘’Nasungkit ng Lungsod ng Olongapo ang ikalawang pwesto (2nd place) ng 2005-2006 Best Peace and Order Council (POC) for Highly Urbanized City,’’ iyan ang magandang balitang ipinarating ni City Mayor James ‘’Bong’’ Gordon, Jr. nitong ika-21 ng Mayo 2007 sa Rizal Triangle Multi-Purpose Center.

Ang ‘’Good News’’ na muli na namang kinilala ang galing ng Olongapo sa National Arena ay ipinarating ni Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) City Director Eliseo de Guzman kay Mayor Bong Gordon kamakailan lamang.

‘’Ang pagkakapanalo ng lungsod sa prestiyosong Peace and Order Council ay hindi lamang tagumpay ng City Government at Olongapo City Police Office (OCPO) kundi ito ay tagumpay ng lahat partikular na ng mga residente ng Olongapo,’’ mensahe pa ng punonglungsod.

Matatandaan na unang pinarangalan ang Olongapo ng Palasyo ng Malacañang sa pamamagitan ng DILG bilang ikalima (5th place) na may pinaka-konkreto at maayos na programa sa Peace and Order sa bansa para sa 2004-2005

National Peace and Order Council-Highly Urbanized City Category.

Bagamat nasa ikalawang taon pa lamang na kabilang ang Olongapo sa kompetisyon ay nagpakita na ito ng edge o kalamangan sa mga malalaking siyudad na kabangga katulad ng Bacolod, Davao at Naga. Nakopo ng Makati ang No. 1 spot sa 2005-2006 National Peace and Order Council-Highly Urbanized City.
