VIRAY, ITINALAGANG RTC ‘JUDGE’ SA GAPO

Ipinakilala ni Olongapo City Mayor James “Bong’’ Gordon, Jr. sa “flag raising ceremony’’ nitong ika-17 ng Setyembre 2007 ang bagong talagang hukom sa Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 75 ng Olongapo City na si Honorable Judge Raymond C. Viray.

Naniniwala si Mayor Gordon na ang pagkakatalaga kay Judge Viray ay magdudulot ng positibong epekto sa kanyang adhikain na lalo pang paigtingin ang “justice system’’ sa Lungsod ng Olongapo. “I believe that Judge Viray will contribute in my pursuit to intensify our justice system,’’ wika ni Mayor Gordon.

Humigit-kumulang labindalawang (12) taon nang nagsisilbi si Viray sa Lungsod ng Olongapo; tatlong (3) bilang Public Attorney, siyam (9) na taon bilang Assistant City Prosecutor at ngayon nga ay bilang Judge ng RTC Branch 75.

Magugunita rin na ginampanan ni Viray ang pagiging Assistant City Prosecutor sa Criminal Case No. 06-651 (People of the Philippines versus Daniel Smith et al.) o ang makontrobersyal na Subic Rape Case noong ang nasabing kaso ay isinampa sa Olongapo City Prosecutor’s Office.

Hinirang ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo si Viray bilang tagapaghatol sa Branch 75 ng Olongapo City Regional Trial Court noong ika-21 ng Marso 2007 at nanumpa sa katungkulan noong ika-17 ng Agosto 2007 sa pamamagitan ni Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Eduardo Nachura.

Nagtapos si Viray ng Bachelor of Laws sa San Beda College at naging ganap na abogado noong taong 1990. Gayundin, nagkamit siya ng “masteral degree’’ sa Public Management at “doctoral degree” naman sa Philosophy kung kaya’t maliban sa pagiging “legal luminary’’ ay isa rin siyang “educator.’’

Ipinanganak si Viray sa Lungsod ng Quezon noong ika-31 ng Marso, 1965 sa mag-asawang Conrado Viray at Virginia Campania.
