House endorses P130M fund for Maimpis gov't center
The resolution is being endorsed by the Central Luzon Bloc in the lower chamber composed of Representatives Juan Edgardo Angara of Aurora; Herminia Roman and Albert Garcia of Bataan; Ma. Victoria Sy-Alvarado, Pedro Pancho, Lorna Silverio, Reylina Nicolas and Arturo Robes of Bulacan; Eduardo Nonato Joson, Joseph Gilbert Violago, Czarina Umali and Rodolfo Antonino of Nueva Ecija; Monica Lousie Prieto-Teodoro, Jose Yap and Jeci Lapus of Tarlac; Ma. Milagros Magsaysay and Antonio Diaz of Zambales, and the four congressmen of Pampanga.
The House of Representatives recently endorsed to MalacaƱang the P130-million fund for the full operation of the Regional Government Center (RGC) in Barangay Maimpis here, as proposed by Pampanga third district Representative Aurelio "Dong" Gonzales Jr.
Proposed Resolution 275 was one of the two legislations the Kapampangan congressman pushed for approval in the House committee on appropriations chaired by Representative Edcel Lagman. The other one was the P1 billion rehabilitation funds for Bacolor town.
The resolution seeks the development of the RGC, an 18-hectare government property declared as home to regional offices of national government agencies (NGAs) in this capital city.
In his proposed resolution, Gonzales said the P130 million, estimated in the master plan culled by representatives of NGAs in series of meetings, will greatly boost the potential of the RGC as a true one-stop-shop for government-related transactions of the public.

Gonzales said the P130 million covers the needed infrastructure interventions, including improvement of the interior road network, drainage and sewerage system, perimeter fencing, relocation of informal settlers, construction of commercial arcade as a business enterprise and provision of pedestrian overpass and covered walk.
"The said investment will benefit the transacting public, send a positive signal to investors and boost the morale of our public servants," Gonzales said. (AL - SunStar)
