BRGY. BARRETTO: LTIA HALL OF FAMER AND NATIONAL AWARDEE
Barangay Barretto has been recognized as Hall of Famer and National Awardee of the prestigious “Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) – Highly Urbanized Cities” for the year 2007.
City Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. and ABC President and Barretto Brgy. Capt. Carlito Baloy received from Preseident Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo two glass trophies for the two awards recently at Rizal Hall of the Malacañan Palace.
“The Lupon’s enthusiasm in seeking for innovations to attain its vision for excellence, coupled with its experiences, readiness and qualifications are contributory in making this Lupon win this category,” Mayor Gordon said.
Barangay Barretto likewise received two Plaques of Recognition from Gerry Roxas Foundation Award of Excellence for being the “Most Outstanding Lupong Tagapamayapa - Highly Urbanized Cities”.
Barretto’s Lupong Tagapamayapa (LT) has been recognized as LTIA’s Hall of Famer for having won the top award for three consecutive years – 2005, 2006 and 2007.
The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), in judging the barangays, particularly scores the number of filed cases compared to the number of unsettled cases in the Katarungang Pambarangay.
From July 2006 to June 2007, Brgy. Barretto’s Katarungang Pambarangay handled a total of 554 and 541 filed cases respectively where 97.6% of which have been settled. 412 of the settled cases in Brgy. Barretto were addressed through mediation while 129 were settled through conciliation and 13 cases were given Certificates to File Action.
Aside from trophies and plaques, Brgy. Barretto also received one hundred thousand pesos (P100,000.00) cash award their National award and another twenty five thousand pesos (P25,000.00) for their Hall of Fame Award.
