COMPUTER VAN ARALAN
More Olongapeños are benefitting from the Computer Van Aralan Program launched recently through the joint efforts of the city government under the leadership of Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr., AI-HU Foundation, and the Olongapo City Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
Mayor Bong Gordon and First Lady Zambales Vice Governor Anne Marie Gordon, together with the officials of AI-HU Foundation led the ceremonial ribbon cutting of the Van Aralan over the weekend which commenced the nine-week Computer Program.
The free computer training program primarily aims to enable more than three hundred (300) youth and out-of-school-youth from the marginalized community in the city to learn information technology.
Participants in the said program have been divided into two batches, each grouped into four classes with twenty students each. Students will undergo two and a half hours of teaching sessions for three weeks from Mondays thru Fridays.
Computer instructors from Manila facilitate lectures and trainings regarding Basic PC, Windows Operating System, MS Office with additional lectures on Values Formation and Personality Enhancement.
The number of target participants have already been reached, yet, still more residents want to benefit from the computer training program. Thus, Mayor Gordon is currently coordinating with AI-HU Foundation for the possible extension of the stay of Computer Van Aralan in the city.
