CITY GOVT PAYS TRIBUTE TO BERNIE ALONZO

The Olongapo City Government has expressed its sympathies to the family of the late Carmelita ‘’Bernie’’ Alonzo.

Led by Olongapo First Lady and Zambales Vice Governor Anne Marie Gordon, the Olongapo City Women’s Council (OCWC) offered a tribute to Alonzo, who passed away just recently.

In the said tribute, Vice Governor Anne Gordon and Mayor James Gordon Jr. together with the members of the OCWC handed the Certificate of Recognition to Bernie’s family for her contributions in the City Government as its former employee.

The City Council likewise expressed their sympathy through Resolution No.61 (Series of 2008) entitled “A Resolution Conveying Profound Sympathy and Condolences to the Bereaved Family of Carmelita B. Alonzo”, a copy of which was likewise awarded to Alonzo family by City Councilors Ellen Dabu, Rodel Cerezo and Angelito Baloy.

Bernie served the City Government for 21 years as nurse and head nurse. Because of her sincere services for the city, she was also appointed as barangay health center coordinator of the City Health Office.

Bernie passed away last May 4 at the age of 50.
