FIL-AM FRIENDSHIP DAY

A motorcade will be held on July 04, 2008 as part of the celebration of the Fil-Am Friendship Day which will be led by Mayor James “Bong” Gordon Jr. foreign and Filipino veterans and various organizations .

The assembly for the motorcade will be 4 pm at Barangay Baretto in-front of the Immaculate Conception Church. The motorcade will proceed to Ramon Magsaysay Drive (RM Drive) and will end at the City Square Center.

After the motorcade, a mini-Mardigras will be held at the Olongapo City Square Center. The mardigras was organized by the Task Force Tourism, led by Councilor Gina Perez and the City Tourism Office led by Kaye Reyes.

The Bikers Association of the Philippines, Veterans of Foreign Wars (Olongapo and Pampanga Chapter), Olongapo Business Club and departments of the Olongapo City Government will be joining the motorcade

American food prepared by various food concessionaires of Olongapo Business Club, will be offered to the public.

One of the highlights of the celebration will be the musical performances of Music Selection Band, Oldies But Goodies Band and the Bonggo Band of Mayor Gordon.

The celebration aims to pay tribute to the long-running harmonious relationship between Filipinos and Americans which continues on to present day.
