MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FROM UNFPA
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) recently turned over another batch of medical equipment for the Basic Emergency Obstetric Care (BEMOC) program.
Included in the BEMOC medical equipment are bassinet, suction pump, episiotomy kit resuscitator machine, delivery table, Doppler, minor surgery kits, sphygmomanometer and stethoscope.
It can be recalled that the UNFPA recently turned over BEMOC equipment to Mayor James ‘Bong’ Gordon Jr. for the BEMOC pilot barangays in Olongapo. These equipment will be turned over to the barangays after the BEMOC facilities are finished. The pilot barangays are Baretto, New Cabalan at Gordon Heights.
Five barangay health centers were also accredited by Phil Health for the Out-Patient Benefit (OPB). The barangays are West Bajac-Bajac, New Cabalan, Gordon Heights, Sta. Rita and Baretto.
Patients can avail of medical services such as physical exam, x-ray, blood and urine examinations in the said health centers.
The UNFPA started to give assistance to the city of Olongapo since 2005 upon representation of Mayor Gordon. The UNFPA aims to promote the reproductive health rights of women, men and adolescents.
