DOST SOUTH LUZON CLUSTER SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FAIR
It’s all systems go for the upcoming 2008 Department of Science and Technology (DOST) South Luzon Cluster Science and Technology fair on November 11 to 14, 2008 at the Olongapo City Convention Center (OCCC).
Olongapo City Mayor James ‘Bong’ Gordon Jr. is encouraging everyone to view the exhibit of the latest scientific and technological breakthroughs developed by government and private research and academic institutions, especially those that will benefit the city’s Small and Medium Enterprises.
“Napakalaki ng pasasalamat ng lungsod sa DOST dahil sa kanilang patuloy na pagsuporta sa lungsod lalo na sa mga donations na ibinibigay nila sa ating livelihood sector,” said Mayor Gordon.
The exhibit is open from November 11 to 14, 2008, 8am-6pm at the OCCC Plenary Hall. No entrance fee.
It can be recalled that the DOST recently donated several peeling machines and also gave support funds to the city’s livelihood ventures.
During the opening ceremonies on November 12, 2008 at the OCCC, DOST Regional Director Dr. Teresita Fortuna will grace the activities with DOST III Regional Director Dr. Conrado Oliveros and other DOST South Luzon Regional Directors and DOST-TAPI Directors.
The ribbon cutting ceremony and opening of exhibits will be held on November 12, 2008 at the Plenary Hall A & B of OCCC.
Mayor Gordon will be delivering the Welcome Address during the Opening Ceremonies.
A Press Conference will be held after the opening ceremonies at the Function Room of OCCC from 10am to 12pm
Several techno forums will also be held such as forum on Waste Management, Intellectual Property Rights, and Renewable and Alternative Energy.
Daily science trivia contests will be held during the entire duration of the exhibit.
