THIRD WORLD EYE-CARE SOCIETY PROGRAM IN OLONGAPO!

Eye care professionals from the Third World Eye Care Society Canada (TWECS) group have arrived in Olongapo City on November 10, 2008. The group immediately visited the Iram Resettlement Area where residents were given free eye consultations and check-ups.

TWECS visits developing countries to help people in their areas with eye problems. The team comprising TWECS includes world class eye care professionals like eye surgeons, optometrists, and other volunteers from different parts of the world.

TWECS plans to serve 400-500people each day during their 11-day stay in Olongapo. Local eye doctors are also helping TWECS in this undertaking.

TWECS will be giving free eye consultations, check-ups and glasses until November 21, 2008 in various parts of Olongapo City.

TWECS have already visited countries like India, Peru, Cambodia, Mexico and Kenya. The group will also be visiting Brazil and St. Vincent in the West Indies in the coming years.

The group was founded by Dr. Marina Roma-March in 1995. Her grandmother is an immigrant from the Philippines.
