GIFT GIVING AT MEDICAL MISSION IN WEST BAJAC-BAJAC
Indigent residents from different areas in the city received early Christmas presents during the gift giving and medical mission held by the Office of the Vice Mayor on December 10, 2008 at the West Bajac-Bajac Covered Court. The event particularly benefited the indigent students of different Day Care Centers (DCC) in the city like the DCCs from Mactan, Upper Sibul and West Bajac-Bajac.
The gift giving and medical mission was held in cooperation with Meridian Life Intl., Jesus the Crown of Glory Church and the Veterans Federation of the Philippines Sons and Daughters Association (VFP-SDAI).
A free medical check-up was held in the morning where students’ health status and over all well being were checked. Basic medicines like paracetamol and anti-biotics were also given for free.
“Napakahalaga na ingatan natin ang kalusugan ng mga bata at an early age,” said Mayor Cajudo. “Kaya we see to it na nabibigyan ng pansin ang lahat ng aspeto ng kalusugan ng mga bata at ginagawa nating mas accessible ang mga health services na ito sa mga nangangailangan.”
After the medical mission, several games for the kids who also received toys and other prizes.
The Jesus is the Crown Glory Church gave a fun-filled presentation for the children. They also gave away reading materials.
The Jollibee mascot also joined in the celebration to entertain the kids with his dance number and giveaways. All the children were given toys and Jolibee merchandise.
Meridian Life Intl., a wellness company based in Singapore capped the day’s celebration with their gift-giving program. This was led by Meridian Life President Lila Macapinlac and Meridian Life officers Shyan Lim and Andrew Ong.
“We’re just really happy and blessed,” said Macapinlac. “We’re just giving back to the people to make their Christmas happy and share what we have to them.”
