LOPEZ IS ACTING MARKET SUPERINTENDENT

Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. has appointed City Veterinarian Dr. Arnold Lopez as the acting Market Superintendent of the Olongapo City Public Market.

“Naniniwala ako sa kakayahan ni Dr. Lopez na pamahalaan ang ating palengke. The additional task at hand is encompassing all his other duties as City Veterinarian and Manager of the city’s Slaughterhouse,” said Gordon.

As officer-in-charge, Lopez plans to systematize the market’s organizational structure. According to Lopez, “I am more involved with the administrative aspect of the market.”

“I plan to arrange and delineate individual functions of market officials to make everyone more productive and effective in their tasks,” shares Lopez.

The office of the City Veterinarian is the frontline of all veterinary-related activities whose main function is the promotion and development of the livestock and poultry industry in the city.

As head of the said office, Lopez implements programs that will help increase the output of the livestock, poultry and dairy industries in the city. Mayor Gordon is keen on expanding the production of poultry, milk and dairy products that he hopes will soon be made available for public consumption.

Lopez also informs the Mayor on all matters pertaining to the slaughter of animals and operations of the slaughterhouse.
