“Lakbay-Aral in Olongapo”

Olongapo City Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. and the City Tourism Office gave a warm welcome to the Municipal Officials of Paranas, Samar who visited the city recently to learn about its current programs and practices through “Lakbay-Aral.”.

Paranas town Mayor Felix Babalcon led the delegation in the day-long activity which included a tour around Olongapo.

“We’d like to know what’s behind the City’s motto “Fighting for Excellence” and why it has been acknowledged a Most Competitive City in the Philippines.

The visitors from Paranas, a small town in Samar province with a population of 27,926 (2000 census) toured the City’s primary attractions including the City Museum, Olongapo City Convention Center, Olongapo City Hall, East Bajac-Bajac Public Market and Ramon Magsaysay (RM) Drive.

Aside from the transfer of information, Lakbay-Aral also boosts Tourism in the participating hosts locality.
