September is Civil Service Month

In observance of the 109th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service this September, the city government has lined up activities in celebration of the said occasion with the theme: “Honoring our Heroes in Republic Service Responsive, Ethical Public Servants with Vision, Impact, Commitment and Excellence.”

“The City Government of Olongapo are enjoined to undertake the activities which shall inspire our fellow workers in pursuing excellence in rendering their services,” Angie Socorro Barroga, oic-personnel office said.

“We salute our public servants for their dedication and commitment to their chosen careers despite challenging times, more power!” Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. said.

In pursuit of a meaningful celebration, the following activities have been prepared:

1. Billboard/ Pylons Display at the following sites: City Hall/ Marikit Park and Rizal Triangle (Sept. 1-30)

2. “Kick Off”
a. Dance-Exercise Competition- “EHERSISYAW”
(Sept. 1)
b. Choral Competition- CSC Hymn (Sept. 1)
Venue: SM Pampanga
c. First Friday Mass (Sponsored by Tourism, PLEB,
Convention, POPCOM, Museum- Sept. 4)
d. Flag Raising Ceremony: Led by Admin,
Personnel, Library, Brgy. East Tapinac-Sept. 7

3. Proposed Training Seminar for City Government Employees
a. Seminar on 5’S by DTI (Head Office)- Sept. 10
b. Team Building Seminar/Workshop- Sept. 11-12
c. 5’S day- spearheaded by DTI- Sept. 14-16
(City Health Office/OTMPS Staff)
d. Alay Sa Bayan (ALAB)-New Entrants-Sept.28-30

4. FOLK DANCE COMPETITION at Convention Center (Sept. 18)

5. FAMILY WEEK by CSWDO (Sept. 22-26)

6. CLOSING ACTIVITIES (Sept. 28)

a. Flag Raising Ceremony: Led by City Budget,
Museum and Brgy. Mabayuan

b. Awarding of Certificates of Recognition for
Retirees MS. Elvira Carreon of the City Office
c. Awarding of Certificates of Training
