Vice-Governor Anne Marie Gordon Hosts Vice-Governors’ Assembly

Zambales Vice-Governor and Olongapo First Lady Anne Marie Gordon hosted the 40th General Assembly of the Vice-Governor’s League of the Philippines attended by more than fifty delegates from different provinces in the country last October 15-17, 2009 at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

On the first day, the vice-governors’ league presented plaques of recognitions to Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr., Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Administrator & CEO Armand Arreza and Zambales Governor Amor Deloso for their support to the assembly.

The vice-governors also visited the Olongapo City Museum, Convention Center, City Hall, resorts in the vicinity and also enjoyed the nature trip arranged by Vice-Governor Anne Marie at the Zoobic Safari, Ocean Adventure and at the All Hands Beach.

Ilocos Vice-Governor Jeremias Singson, Chairman of the League of Vice Governors, expressed his commendations to Vice-Governor Anne Marie for hosting a an excellent convention in Zambales and also explained the league’s aspirations.

“The league assists the national government in the formulation and implementation of policies, programs and projects affecting the provinces as a whole, promote and give meaning to local autonomy and decentralization and to foster unity and cooperation among all Vice-Governors in the country,” said Vice-Governor Singson.

“This 3-day convention has not only achieved the league’s organizational objectives but has also helped the hotels and other interconnected businesses in the tourism industry in Olongapo, Subic Bay and Zambales,” said Vice-Governor Anne Marie.
