1st OVERPASS IN OLONGAPO ALMOST COMPLETE

Located at Rizal Avenue in front of Olongapo City Elementary School (OCES), the first ever overpass in Olongapo City is already eighty percent (80%) complete.

According to City Engineer Roberto Alvarez of the Engineering Office, the overpass measures 22 meters x 3 meters and funded by the City Government. Its construction started last November 2009 and is expected to be finished on March 2010.

The construction of the overpass is one of Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr.’s infra-structure program to address the traffic problems in Olongapo and to make the streets safer to students.

New Cabalan Covered Court on February 10, 2010.

After the completion of the 1st overpass in front of the OCES, construction for the 2nd overpass in front of Olongapo City National High School (OCNHS) will start soon. Mayor Gordon is planning on building four more (4) overpasses at East Bajac-Bajac Public Market, Ulo ng Apo Rotonda, in front of Wesley Methodist School and Olongapo City Mall.

Aside from motorists, the 4,000 students from the OCES and residents from Brgy. West and East Bajac-Bajac will benefit from the overpass as soon as construction is completed.
