NEW HOSPITALS TO PROMOTE MEDICAL TOURISM
Two more hospitals are set to open soon in Olongapo and in Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
“The establishment of Our Lady of Lourdes and Bay Pointe Hospitals will further promote medical tourism in the city and at SBFZ,” said Mayor James “Bong” Gordon Jr.
“Patients no longer need to go to Manila or abroad to seek medical help because we have more hospitals here armed with top-notch doctors and fully-equipped to provide quality and efficient services. Moreover, retirees and patients from other areas will also be driven here because of the combined attraction of the environment where they could easily recuperate and of the assurance that they will have good hospitals to turn to in times of medical emergencies,” Mayor Gordon explained.
“Aside from generating competitive costs of hospitalization, the advent of medical tourism will also produce more jobs for our professional and skilled workers,” said Councilor Gina Perez, an ardent promoter of the city’s tourism projects.
It can be recalled that James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital which caters to patients from different parts of the region and George Dewey Medical and Wellness Hospital in the SBFZ have already been promoting medical tourism for several years now.
