School Teachers Received their COLA
Mayor James “Bong” Gordon Jr. personally handed over the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) of public school officials, principal and teachers of the Department of Education (DepED)-Olongapo at FMA Hall of Olongapo City Hall last August 2, 2010.
Mayor Gordon assisted by First Lady Anne Gordon in handling over COLA was joined by DepEd City School Superintendent Dra. Ligaya Monato and Assistant Superintendent Naomi Arzadon.
Each of the one thousand five hundred seventy-three (1, 573) public teaching and non-teaching personnel of elementary and secondary schools in the City received P2, 400.00.
The COLA received by DepEd-Olongapo was for the months of January until June of this year and the next COLA will be given on December for the second half.
The COLA amounted to some four million pesos (P3.7M).
COLA is from the Special Education Fund (SEF) which came from the Real Property Tax collections (RPT) of the City.
