Sports and Youth Development Coordinator

Mayor Bong Gordon introduced to the city government employees the new Sports and Youth Development coordinator Mr. Ryan Marvin S. Mabeza

Ryan envisions Olongapo as "Living and Breathing Development through Sports and Youth Empowerment… that our city becomes a benchmark for building a community that supports, develops, advances and empowers youth in all their diversity as well as a society that allows them to become active and influential, feel safe and sustained in their development, to let them feel appreciated and associated. "
His goal is to program a strategic linkage between Youth and the City Government of Olongapo by planning, designing, coordinating, and evaluating avenues for developing inclusive and meaningful opportunities for the youth involvement in community life through increased access to resources, sports programs and facilities, leadership maturity and civic engagement. Through the tying up of public and private sectors, Olongapo develops a competitive nature in dealing with life’s realities as a community that harmoniously and healthily work together.

Thoughts from Ryan:

“Mayor Gordon takes 6 small frequent meals a day. He wants to stay fit. He wants to continue serving the people of Olongapo. Sports is a passion. Youth is his strongest ammunition. This is the reason why the City Sports and Youth Development Office is re-designed.”

“Mayor Bong cannot do this alone; we need all the help from many, if not all, the sectors of our community. Let us take advantage of the Bong Gordon H.E.L.P.S. Program - Sports and Youth Development is a critical factor. Let us keep the Fighting for Excellence.”

For any sports concerns and youth development involvement projects, please coordinate with
the City Sports and Youth Development Office at the 3F OC Hall, just bring along a proposal that would contain
(1) Project Background,
(2) Program Objectives,
(3) Program Beneficiary,
(4) Program Budget Requirements, and
(5) Program Evaluation Tool.
The CSYD Office will communicate and design proper project channeling and will provide project directions and feasibility, if necessary.”
