JLGORDON COUNCIL PRINTS OWN MANUAL
The James L. Gordon Council is set to distribute its locally published scouting book for the year 2011, entitled; SCOUTING: AS EASY AS 1, 2, 3- A COMPREHENSIVE SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR SCOUTING.
The first book of its kind in Olongapo City, it is dedicated to the scouts and volunteers of the James L. Gordon Council.
The Council is hoping that at least 1000 books will be sold to scouts, volunteers, and parents while copies will be distributed for Free Books to all Private/Public Elementary/Secondary Schools and Public Library before the end of January 2011.
The Scouting Book is Compact, Comprehensive and almost complete to serve as guide for scouts and volunteers on Basic History, Structure, Programs, Advancement, Activities and Ceremonies.
The book has three (3) major objectives:
1. To provide standard source of information for
scouts of all levels.
2. To enhance awareness and interest among
scouts and non-scouts.
3. To raise funds for the Uniform, Training Needs and other materials for Council members.
Sponsors and supporters may avail a Minimum of Three (3) copies and annual Membership for the year 2011. Two (2) copies of books will be donated to a beneficiary Public School with the sponsor's name imprinted and the third copy kept by the sponsor.
The Total Sponsorship is worth Php 700.00 to include the 3 books @ Php 510, Php 100.00 as Annual Membership and Php 90.00 donation for the Emergency Service Corp Training program.
Any individual Official may donate any amount but for amounts exceeding Php 1000.00, donors may contact the Council for proper documentation/processing. Donors may issue a check or deposit directly to the account of JLGORDON Council with BDO account number 5830252083.
“The success of the first publication will determine the number of the second production/distribution and the kind support of the benefactors in this project will propel the council’s program for the year 2011: A stable scouting council which will be automated and on-line with visible and active quality scouting activities program for our future leaders in the land,” remarked Mario Esquillo, council scout executive, JLGORDON Council.
