‘GAPO MULING KINILALA ANG GALING!

Patuloy na naghahakot ng karangalan ang Lungsod ng Olongapo sa National at International arena ng kapwa Government at Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) dahil sa patuloy na paglikha ng mga programa at proyekto nito para sa benipisyo ng mga residente nito.

Kamakailan sa Grand Ballroom ng Intercontinental Hotel, Makati City ay tinanggap ni City Mayor James ‘’Bong’’ Gordon, Jr. kasama ang ilang opisyales ng lungsod ang plake buhat sa Asian Institute of Management Policy Center at ng The Asia Foundation and German Technical Cooperation.

Ang Asian Institute of Management Policy Center ay isang malaking educational institute kung saan ito ay nagbibigay ng pagkilala sa mga siyudad at munisipalidad sa ibat-ibang bansa na sakop sa Asya Pasipiko.

Ang Olongapo ay isa (1) sa animnaput limang (65) urban centers sa bansa na pinarangalan ng Philippine Cities Competitiveness Ranking Project 2005 (PCCRP) na hinati sa tatlong (3) pangunahing kategorya ng small, mid-sized, at metro cities.

Wagi ang Olongapo sa mga naging batayan ng PCCRP pagdating sa business, infrastructure, Human Resource, Linkages and Accessibility, quality of life, local governance at dynamism of local economy. Isa ang lungsod sa top 10 ranking ng mga top performing cities sa ilalim ng kategoryang Small Cities.
