Freeport revenue flat
SUBIC Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) administrator Armand Arreza said the Freeport's revenue growth last year turned out flat, and targets a modest growth of P1.8 billion this year.
Arreza said SBMA generated revenues amounting P1.7 billion in 2007, half of which come from rental and leases.
SBMA said a total of 123 new business locaters came in from January to September, amounting to $ 1.45 billion in fresh investments. The new commitments spiked Subic's total cumulative investments to $ 5.22 billion, 28 percent higher than 2006's $ 3. 76 billion, and also brought in 13, 098 new jobs as of September.
The two biggest projects approved last year wre Millenium Properties, which committed $1 million for hotel and restaurant operation, and sungdo Steel services, Inc., engaged in construction and repair works, as well as import and export activities.
