Small RP firms concerned about software costs, local service
SUBIC BAY, Olongapo City -- When it comes to software, smaller companies are still most concerned about cost and prefer to deal with local service providers, according to a report from research firm International Data Corp. (IDC).
IDC recently conducted a survey of more than 1,300 Asia Pacific businesses belonging to the small and medium business or SMB segment. Companies surveyed ranged from as small as five employees to no more than a thousand in workforce.
The survey showed smaller companies, or those with less than 100 workers, are more concerned about software cost. Those with bigger employee sizes, meanwhile, cite the degree of vendor support and security as top concerns when buying software.
When buying IT services, more than 60 percent of the respondents surveyed preferred to deal with a local system integrator or service partner.
Such a preference was even more important for small companies, IDC said. AsianJournal
