Cops find indications of sexual molestation on model
Model Scarlet Garcia, who with three companions was shot and killed inside her townhouse in Olongapo City before dawn Thursday, may have been sexually molested as well.
Investigator-on-case Insp. Santos Candido said late Thursday that Garcia and cousin Rachel Estacio had no underwear when their bodies were found.
"Pareho silang wala nang underwear o [panties]. Ito na-autopsy sa funeraria, siguro doon natin malalaman. Nakadamit pantaas sila (They were both clothed but were not wearing panties. We expect the autopsy to give us a clearer picture of what happened)," Candido said in an interview on dzRH radio.
He said investigators also found the two in a "huddling" position at the corner of the bathroom, indicating they could have begged their killers for mercy.
The two other fatalities, George Castor and Van Mark Bandejas (a.k.a. Joaqui/Wakee), were found bound and in another part of the townhouse.
Each sustained at least one gunshot wound to the head, Candido said, adding the killers put a piece of cloth near Bandejas' head and tried to set fire to it.
Shells recovered from the crime scene indicated "two or more" assailants used cal-.45 and 9-mm pistols to kill the four, he said.
Candido said their initial investigation showed the killers could have been with the victims while they were having a videoke session shortly before the murders.
Police are eyeing robbery and a love triangle as likely motives behind the grisly crime.
"Maaari pong ganoon, maaaring kakilala nila (That is possible, the victims may have known their killers)," he said when asked if the suspects may have been acquaintances of the victims. - GMANews.TV
