RE-KONSTRUKSYON NG FREEPORT MAIN GATE BRIDGE

Napagkasunduan ng Olongapo City Government at Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) na ipagawa ang main gate bridge ng Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ).

Sa isang Joint Consultative Meeting ng mga opisyales ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Olongapo at SBMA na pinangunahan nina Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. at Administrator C. Armand Arreza na isinagawa nitong ika-11 ng Marso 2008 sa FMA Hall ng City Hall ay napagkasunduan na ipagawa sa lalong madaling panahon ang main gate bridge patungong Freeport.

Layon ng naturang pagpapagawa na patibayin ang tulay upang mas lalong maging convenient para sa mga investors at mga turista.

Kaugnay nito ay planong pansamantalang ilipat ang main entry point ng Freeport sa Rizal Avenue gate na malapit sa James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital (JLGMH).

Samantala, itatalaga ng Office of the Traffic Management and Public Safety (OTMPS) ang harapan ng JLGMH (Rizal Avenue area) bilang loading and unloading area para sa mga yellow jeepneys.

Matatandaang humigit kumulang limampung (50) taong gulang na ang Freeport main gate bridge at kailangan na itong i-upgrade upang mapanatiling ligtas kapwa sa motorista at pedestrian. PAO/jms
