HALFMOON BEACH,BUKAS NA!

Bubuksan na para sa publiko ang Halfmoon Beach sa ika-16 ng Marso.

Sa inisyatibo ni Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr., sa pamamagitan ng City Tourism Office, isasagawa ang dry-run opening ng Halfmoon Beach kasabay ng Palm Sunday ngayong darating na linggo.

Nilalayon ng naturang pagbubukas para sa publiko ng Halfmoon Beach na mabigyan ng karagdagang destinasyon sa panahon ng tag-araw ng mga Olongapeño at mga turistang darayo sa lungsod. Tuloy-tuloy nang magiging bukas ang Halfmoon Beach hanggang sa grand opening nito na pinaplanong isabay sa 2008 Sibit-Sibit Festival sa Abril.

Bago pa man ang dry run opening ng naturang beach area ay puspusang inihanda ang kabuuan nito sa pangangasiwa ng Olongapo Mahal Ko Foundation. Para sa kapanatagan ng mga turista at residenteng tatangkilik sa Halfmoon Beach, magugunitang labing limang (15) lifeguards na itatalaga dito ang sinanay at sinailalim ng City Government sa masusing Red Cross trainings. Bukod dito ay nilinis at inihanda rin ang kabuuan ng lugar kasama na ang pagsasaayos ng mga cottages, shower rooms at comfort rooms.


Upang higit pang maging ideyal na beach area ang Halfmoon Beach ay walang entrance fee ang pagpasok dito. ‘Good for 20 persons’ ang malalaking cottages dito at ‘good for 12 persons’ naman ang maliliit.

Inaasahan namang papatok sa publiko ang muling pagbubukas nito dahil na rin sa napapanahon nitong pagsalubong sa panahon ng tag-araw. PAO/jpb
