NATIONAL DISASTER CONSCIOUSNESS MONTH
“Pag-alerto, Malayo sa Peligro”, this is the theme of the National Disaster Consciousness Month Celebration for the month of July,” said Mayor James ‘’Bong” Gordon, Jr. during the Flag Raising Ceremony at Rizal Triangle Multi-Purpose Center on the 30th of June.
Streamers were hung along the main thoroughfares of the seventeen (17) barangays of Olongapo as part of the information dissemination to enlighten the public on the importance of disaster consciousness and preparedness.
There will be a Thanksgiving Mass at the FMA hall on 4th of July as part of the celebration.
A ‘Blood Typing and Letting Program’ will be organized on July 18 at the Olongapo City Convention Center (OCCC) which will be participated in by Volunteer Organizations to donate blood for the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC).
The City Disaster Coordinating Council (CDCC) is also going to send representatives to the NCR/CL EQ Simulation Exercise in Quezon City on the 1st until the 31st of July.

During the launching of the National Disaster Consciousness Month at the Flag Raising Ceremony on Rizal Triangle Multi Purpose Center, Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. together with Angelito Layug, Head of the Disaster Management Office (DMO) encouraged the members of the City Disaster Coordinating Council (CDCC), Barangay Disaster Coordinating Council (BDCC) and the public regarding the importance of disaster consciousness and preparedness.
