OLONGAPO WINS PEACE AND ORDER ACCOLADE
Olongapo City has once again earned accolade for its outstanding performance and dedication to peace and order. The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) awarded Olongapo City as the Most Outstanding Peace and Order Council in Region III, Highly Urbanized City Category.
Mayor Gordon received the award on August 11, 2008 from NAPOLCOM acting provincial officer Ruben delos Santos and other NAPOLCOM officials at the flag-raising ceremony held at the Rizal Triangle Multi-Purpose Center.
Having won in the regional level, Olongapo will be representing Region III in the 2007 National Search for Best Peace and Order Council. This is the fourth unprecedented time that the city received the award.
“Tuloy-tuloy lang at pag-iigihan pa natin ang pagpapanatili ng peace and order sa lungsod. Ngayon, dumadami na ang mga parangal ng lungsod ng Olongapo dahil sa ating dedikasyon at pagtutulung-tulungan. We won’t stop hanggang maging magandang-maganda ang peace and order ng lungsod at maging ehemplo sa buong bansa,” said Mayor Gordon.
“Ang parangal na ito ay hindi sa akin kung hindi sa bawat Olongapeno. Ipakita natin na isa tayo sa best cities, not only in the Philippines but in the world!,” Mayor Gordon added.
The award is given to outstanding cities that have unwavering dedication to maintaining peace and order, fighting crime, community organization and law enforcement for the welfare of the people.
