OCPO RECEIVES PCR AWARD

Olongapo City Police Office (OCPO) has once again bested different police offices in Central Luzon in having the Best Police Community Relations (PCR) Unit.

Regional Director Police Chief Superintendent Edgardo Ladao handed the plaque of recognition to acting City Director Police Senior Superintendent Arthur Felix E. Asis on July 4, 2011 at Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

”The celebration aims to enhance public awareness and to harness the community’s trust, confidence and involvement in crime prevention,” Mayor James “Bong” Gordon said.

At the initiative of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) this year’s PCR Awards theme is “Matatag na ugnayan ng Mamamayan at Kapulisan Tungo sa Mapayapa at Ligtas na Pamayanan”.

The month long celebration is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation Number 764, declaring the month of July of every year as PCR Month where police and community partnership towards the maintenance of peace and order is highlighted.

In relation to PCR Month, the OCPO continuously conducts a series of lectures/information dissemination campaign on illegal drugs abuse, crime prevention and anti-human trafficking in the seventeen (17) barangays in Olongapo.

PNP ENTRANCE AND PROMOTIONAL EXAM FILING OF FORM


A Representative from the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM)-Region 3 accept applications for the Philippine National Police (PNP) Entrance and Promotional Examinations. Filing of applications will last from August 23 to August 27, 2010 at the Olongapo City Convention Center (OCCC). It can be recalled that Mayor Bong Gordon personally arranged with the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM)-Region 3 to conduct PNP examinations in the city so that examinees need no longer go to the City of San Fernando in Pampanga. The simultaneous nationwide PNP Entrance and Promotional Examinations will be held in the city on Sunday October 24, 2010 at the Olongapo City National High School (OCNHS).

PNP ENTRANCE & PROMOTIONAL EXAMS IN OLONGAPO CITY

Through the initiative of Mayor James “Bong” Gordon Jr., the Philippine National Police (PNP) will conduct the nationwide PNP Entrance and Promotional Examinations in Olongapo City on October 24, 2010.

This is in line with the desire of Mayor Gordon to bring the examination services closer to the Olongapo to be a part of the PNP. This will alleviate the burden of aspirants from transportation and other incidental expenses.

Some 1, 200 civilians and PNP promotional exams applicants are estimated to come from Olongapo City alone. Filings and processing of applications will start on August 16, 2010 until September 30, 2010.

Documents needed for the processing of the said examinations were as follows;
For PNP Entrance Examination:
1. Transcript of Records/Diploma with special order
2. Birth Certificate
3. 2 recent & identical 1”x1” ID pictures (in color) white background with complete name tag (indicate first, middle & last name)

For PNP Promotional Examinations:
1. Certified true copy of attested appointment/Plantilla appointment or PNP Absorption Order
2. Report Rating/Certification issued by the NAPOLCOM Central Office, CSC, Certificate of Eligibility and/or PRC Board Certificate
3. 2 recent & identical 1”x1” ID pictures(in color) white background with complete name tag (indicate first, middle & last name)

PNP ENTRANCE AND PROMOTIONAL EXAMINATION

Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. directed city officials regarding the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Regional Dir. Raquel Q. Ramos’ request to disseminate information for the Philippine National Police (PNP) bi- annual Entrance and Promotional Examinations which will be held on April 25, 2010.

Interested applicants for the PNP Entrance Examination are required to submit the following documents: Transcript of Records or diploma with Special Order, birth certificate, 2 recent and identical 1 x 1 colored ID pictures with white background and complete name tag.

On the other hand, the PNP Promotional Examinations applicants should submit certified true copy of attested appointment or Plantilla appointment or PNP absorption order, report of rating or certification issued by the NAPOLCOM Central Office or PRC Board Certificate and 2 recent identical 1 x 1 colored picture with white background and complete name tag.

Filing Fees for Interested Applicants:
- PNP Entrance – P400.00
- Police Officer - P400.00
- SPO – P450.00
- Inspector – P500
- Superintendent – P600.00

According to the letter sent by NAPOLCOM Reg. Dir, qualified civilians and PNP personnel should personally file their application forms from February 8 – March 15, 2010 at the NAPOLCOM regional office located at Camp Olivas, San Fernando, Pampanga.

OLONGAPO WINS PEACE AND ORDER ACCOLADE

Olongapo City has once again earned accolade for its outstanding performance and dedication to peace and order. The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) awarded Olongapo City as the Most Outstanding Peace and Order Council in Region III, Highly Urbanized City Category.

Mayor Gordon received the award on August 11, 2008 from NAPOLCOM acting provincial officer Ruben delos Santos and other NAPOLCOM officials at the flag-raising ceremony held at the Rizal Triangle Multi-Purpose Center.

Having won in the regional level, Olongapo will be representing Region III in the 2007 National Search for Best Peace and Order Council. This is the fourth unprecedented time that the city received the award.

“Tuloy-tuloy lang at pag-iigihan pa natin ang pagpapanatili ng peace and order sa lungsod. Ngayon, dumadami na ang mga parangal ng lungsod ng Olongapo dahil sa ating dedikasyon at pagtutulung-tulungan. We won’t stop hanggang maging magandang-maganda ang peace and order ng lungsod at maging ehemplo sa buong bansa,” said Mayor Gordon.

“Ang parangal na ito ay hindi sa akin kung hindi sa bawat Olongapeno. Ipakita natin na isa tayo sa best cities, not only in the Philippines but in the world!,” Mayor Gordon added.

The award is given to outstanding cities that have unwavering dedication to maintaining peace and order, fighting crime, community organization and law enforcement for the welfare of the people.

OLONGAPO BEST CITY PEACE AND ORDER COUNCIL SA REGION-3

Tinanggap ni City Mayor James ‘’Bong’’ Gordon, Jr. ang Plaque of Recognition para sa Lungsod ng Olongapo bilang Regional Winner sa 2006 Search for Best Peace and Order Council (POC) sa ilalim ng Highly Urbanized City Category.

Ini-abot nina DILG City Director Eliseo de Guzman at National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Region-3 Representative Ruben delos Santos ang ‘’2006 Best City Peace and Order Council’’ award kay Mayor Bong Gordon sa harap ng mga opisyales at kawani ng City Hall nitong ika-16 ng Hulyo 2007 sa Flag Raising Ceremony sa Rizal Triangle Multi-Purpose Center.

‘’Malaking inspirasyon ang patuloy na pagkilala na natatanggap ng Olongapo pagdating sa Peace and Order. Ito ang epekto ng magandang relasyon at pagkaka-isa ng City Government, Olongapo City Police Office at ng mga Olongpeño,’’ wika ni Mayor Gordon.

Sa ngayon ay muling naghahanda na ang Olongapo sa gagawing final evaluation ng National Selection Awards Committee ng Peace and Order Council bago matapos ang taong 2007. Dito ay muling makakaharap ng lungsod ang mga mahihigpit na katunggaling siyudad ng Bacolod at Naga para sa National Level.

Matatandaan na taong 2004 at 2005 ay Regional Awardee ang Olongapo sa POC award samantalang pumasok ito sa ikalimang pwesto (5th place) ng 2004 at ikalawang pwesto (2nd place) sa 2005 National Level ng Peace and Order Council Awards Competition.

Ang POC Awards ay isang prestiyosong kompetisyon na may layuning pumili ng mga lugar sa bansa na may konkretong programa at mahusay na pagpapatupad sa Peace and Order.

Ipinakita ni Mayor Bong Gordon ang Regional Award ng Olongapo sa ‘’2006 Best City Peace and Order Council’’ sa mga City Councilors, opisyales at kawani ng City Hall sa Flag Raising Ceremony nitong ika-16 ng Hulyo 2007.
