.50 CENTAVOS MINIMUM FARE ROLLBACK
Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Region III Director Robert Peig informed the public that in Central Luzon including Olongapo City, starting at 12:01 am of November 7, minimum fare is cut back by .50 centavos.
The LTFRB’s decision, is the result of the Motion for Provisional Fare Reduction filed by the National Commuters Protection Group, a Non-Government Organization.
The P8.50 fare for jeepney is now P8.00 for the first 4 kilometers.
The Commuters Group filed the petition as it noted the dramatic plunge of oil prices in the international market.
Col. Joe Aquino of the Office of Traffic Management and Public Safety gave the go-signal to implement the long waited fare rollback in Olongapo City.
