ANGELES CITY — A regional trial court judge here has ordered the arrest of two American men and a Filipino woman for alleged human trafficking activities and operation of cybersex dens.
Two of the suspects, however, have already reportedly fled to the United States.
Superintendent Salvador Manga, chief of the provincial police criminal investigation unit, identified the suspects as Thomas Joseph Deassy and his Filipino wife, Virginia Deassy, and their alleged accomplice, James Paul Kelly.
He said the arrest warrants were issued for them by RTC Judge Ofelia Pinto following a police raid of their alleged cybersex parlor in Don Bonifacio Subdivision, Barangay Balibago here. The raiding policemen were reported to have caught young girls "modelling" in front of web cameras attached to three computer sets.
But the suspects later filed a complaint against the raiding policemen and charged them with extortion and robbery in connection with the raid.
They, however, withdrew their complaint before they were reported to have vanished.
Manga said no bail was recommended for the suspects. While the Deassy couple were reported to have already flown to the US, the whereabouts of Kelly could not be ascertained by the cops amid reports that he has transferred operations to another tourist-oriented area in the country.
He said one of the models, a minor, told investigators that the Deassy couple recruited her as model and promised her a high salary.
Assistant City prosecutor Oliver Garcia charged the three suspects with six counts of qualified human trafficking. At the same time, he also dropped the extortion and robbery cases filed by Deassy and Kelly against the policemen who conducted the raid after the complainants withdrew their case against them.
