Gordon introduces Bagumbayan to Jaycee Senators
Sen. Richard Gordon the other night challenged top civic leaders to take an active role anew in nationbuilding by collectively expressing their sentiments against the passage of Proclamation 1017, supporting the immediate revamp of the Commission on Elections and demanding full poll computerization program by 2007.
Addressing top leaders of the Metro Manila Jaycee Senate on its 20th Induction and Grand Fellowship at the Wack Wack Golf and Country in Mandaluyong City, Gordon also called for presidential and vice presidential elections in 2007 to give the country a fresh start and avoid a possible scenario of military rule should the present instability and national crisis persists.
Gordon, who once belonged to a local JC chapter in Olongapo, urged senior Jaycee leaders to imbibe anew the spirit of volunteerism, patriotism and active participation in the country’s affairs. He urged the JCI senators to embrace the noble "Bagumbayan" ideology that puts premium on the country’s capacity for greatness and for the realization of every Filipino’s dream of a new Philippines.
