Subic-Clark-Tarlac road nears completion
SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — Upon completion of the $425-million Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx), more economic opportunities will pour in Central Luzon, a Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) official said yesterday.
SBMA Administrator Armand Arreza said that the 93.7-kilometer, four-lane SCTEx is now more than half-completed and will be finished before the end of the third quarter of 2007.
"We are optimistic that the project, now 57 percent complete, will be finished as scheduled to facilitate easy access among the three economic growth areas in Central Luzon," Arreza said.
He added that the new expressway will provide an easier access route to and from industrial parks and ports at the freeport to the Santa Luisita Industrial Park in Tarlac to the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) in Clark. — Ric Sapnu - The Philippine Star
