Hanjin profit triples in Q3

Hanjin Shipping Co. reported third-quarter earnings that more than tripled those of the year-ago period on higher freight rates.
The South Korean liner company’s net profit reached 112 billion won ($123 million) in the July-September period, compared with $36.4 million a year earlier.
Sales amounted to $2.03 billion in the third quarter of the year, compared with $1.8 billion a year earlier, the company said in a regulatory filing.
The company's third-quarter operating income reached $135 million, up 185 percent from a year earlier.
