PJI corres sinibak sa ‘kotong’

OLONGAPO CITY – Pormal ng sinibak ng pamunuan ng People’s Journal Inc. (PJI) si Johnny Reblando bilang provincial correspondent sa Zambales (Subic/Olongapo) makaraang mapatunayang sangkot ito sa operasyon ng pangongotong.

Sa ipinalabas na opisyal na liham na nilagdaan ni PJI Editor-in-Chief Augusto “Gus” B. Villanueva noong Nobyembre 30, 2007, sinibak si Reblando matapos ang masusing imbestigasyon na magkahiwalay na isinagawa ng Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3), Olongapo City Police Office (OCPO) at PJI sa kasong kinasasangkutan nito partikular ang malawakang pangingikil nito.

“Base on the investigation report from the office of Chief Supt. Errol Pan, the letter from the Subic Bay Press Corps and the special report from our own correspondents group, there is reason to believe that you have indeed committed a serious and illegal act. I have decided to terminate your services as PJI correspondent for Zambales effective immediately. Saad sa liham ni Villanueva.

Ayon pa sa liham ni Villanueva, hindi lamang ang pangalan ni Reblando bilang PJI reporter ang dinungisan nito kundi ang mismong publikasyon ng PJI. Agad din na pinapasurender ang kanyang press accreditation.

Nag-ugat ang pagkakasibak kay Reblando matapos maghain ng reklamo sa Olongapo City-PNP, ang isang Avelino Menor, operator ng peryahan sa nabanggit na lungsod dahil sa pangha-harass sa kanya ng dating peryodista sa kabila ng paunang P10, 000 na ang naibigay bilang tara nito.
