10 WWII bombs found in Olongapo school

Ten World War ll bombs were dug up by pupils at the New Cabalan Elementary School in Olongapo City Thursday afternoon.

Police said the Grade 4 pupils found the bombs while digging up a portion of the school compound as part of a school project.

The pupils mistook the round metal objects for grenades and immediately informed their teacher, Milagros Aguilar, who then alerted the police.

Policemen and personnel from the explosives ordnance unit found four bombs in the school garden and another six bombs near the site. The bombs were brought to police headquarters in Camp Maquinaya.
