Sergia Soriano School Gets Free Access to Knowledge Channel

Philip Morris Philippines, Inc., Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. and the Department of Education has chosen Sergia Soriano Esteban Integrated School of Kalaklan as a beneficiary of its ‘Proficient Measures for Quality Education’ (PMQE) program.

Managing Director Christopher Nelson of Philip Morris Philippines Inc. and President and Executive Director Rina Lopez-Bautista of Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. personally awarded the commemorative plaque to Olongapo City Mayor James Gordon, Jr. together with Castillejos Mayor Wilma Billman and student representative Jason Quilat while Senator Richard Gordon, SBMA Administrator Armand Arreza, and Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ligaya Monato witnessed the event.



The said commemorative plaque symbolizes that Sergia Soriano Esteban Integrated School of Kalaklan has been entitled to free access to Knowledge Channel. Necessary infrastructure equipment such as the satellite dish and television set have already been installed in the school to gain access to the station’s educational programs.

A Knowledge Channel representative will also conduct a regular monitoring of the equipment installed to ensure a continuous and clear signal of the station which programs can now be viewed by students of the beneficiary school.

Some of the educational TV programs of Knowledge Channel include Sineskwela, Math-Tinik, Pahina and other programs with technology and cyber education concepts.

Meanwhile, the PMQE program also donated Mathematics and Science textbooks for Sergia Soriano Esteban Integrated School. Another beneficiary school of the said program in Zambales is the Aeta community-based school in Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
