SCTEx is site for '94k weekend' sports event
CLARK FREEPORT -- A series of sports activities will be held from April 18 to 20 along the P21-billion Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx).
The Tourism and Promotions Office (TPO) of Clark Development Corporation (CDC) said the three-day event, dubbed 94K Weekend, will kick off here on April 18.
The event will commence with a motor exhibit and convention, which will be facilitated by the Luzon Motorcyclists Federation, Inc. (LMFI) at the Industrial Estate-5 (IE-5) Omni Area of the Clark Freeport.
The event will showcase the newest motorcycling trends and latest motorcycle models.
On the following day, there will be "Tour de SCTEx Linked: A race for progress" where corporate executives and professionals and cycling enthusiasts will participate in what is expected as a "high-octane competition."
Another highlight for Saturday's event is the torch relay. The event will feature celebrities and other personalities who will execute a torch relay symbolizing various benefits to the areas where SCTEx traverses.
Each participant for the torch relay shall run for at least one kilometer at the Tarlac-Clark- and Subic-Clark routes.
The event will also feature the BMW Test Drive and Test Ride.
SCTEx has teamed up with the "BMW Philippines to let drivers and bikers enjoy the 94-kilometer drive and run.
The participants in the event will experience the smoothest ride in the most luxurious sports cars and big bikes.
There will be mini-concerts of bands and other musical extravaganzas, sports activities like wall climbing, and bazaars and booths featuring the best of Pampanga delicacies and products.
On April 20, participants will be treated to a series of sports events.
These include the Ultra Marathon, an invitational run-for-a-cause activity focusing on professional runners; a 42-kilometer SCTEx Marathon; 10-kilometer SCTEx Fun Run; and a 188-kilometer SCTEx Cycling Challenge.
