Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr., lauded the successful opening of the Barangay Olympics 2008 on May 11, 2008 at East Tapinac Sports Complex.
During the flag raising ceremonies of city officials and employees at Rizal Triangle Multi-Purpose Center this Monday, Mayor Gordon commended City Councilor Rodel Cerezo, Vice Chair of the Olongapo City Sports Council (OCSC), members of the OCSC and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation, and other city and barangay officials who contributed to the success of the opening ceremonies of the Barangay Olympics.
“Our Barangay Olympics is very significant in discovering potential Olongapeño athletes who may be able to represent the city or even the country in national and international sports competitions,” Mayor Gordon said.
