MOTORCYCLES FOR `GAPO’S POLICE FORCE
Mayor James ‘Bong’ Gordon Jr. turned over two (2) Honda motorcycles to the Olongapo City Police Office (OCPO) on September 15, 2008 at the city government employees’ flag-raising ceremony held at the Rizal Triangle Multi-Purpose Center.
Col. Jeric Villanueva received the motorbikes on behalf of the OCPO, under the command of Sr. Supt. Abelardo Villacorta.
“We are happy that the OCPO is one of the recipients of these two motorcycles because they will help a lot in our mobility especially now that we have the tourist police. These motorcycles will help them to patrol the city,” Villanueva said.
“Maganda ang mga ganyang motorsiklo para sa monitoring ng mga pulis natin sa mga kalye,” said Mayor Gordon. “Para yung mga naga-abuso sa kalye ay mahinto natin lalo na yung mga insidente ng diving under the influence (DUI).”
“We should be responsible drivers kaya kapag naka-inom dapat hindi na nagmamaneho. We are doing them a favor by stopping them dahil mahirap na marami ang madadamay at yun ang masakit,” Mayor Gordon added.
Mayor Gordon also commended the OCPO for continuously winning awards. The OCPO recently bagged the award for Best Police Community Relations (PCR) Branch- City Police Office Level while SPO4 Regino Dato was awarded ‘Best Senior Police Non-Commission Officer (PNCO)’ for the eight (8) time.
