JOB FAIR 2008
Over three thousand (3, 500) applicants trooped to the 2008 Job Fair (Pag May Trabaho Buhay May Asenso) of Mayor James ‘Bong’ Gordon Jr. held last week at the Olongapo City Convention Center (OCCC).
The job fair was successfully held in cooperation with Senator Richard Gordon., Cong. Carissa Coscolluela, WOW Card Inc., Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) and Public Employment Services Office (PESO) - Olongapo City.
WOW Card President Victorino L. Quitton, DOLE Provincial Director Angelita Fernando and POEA Region III Coordinator Winnifreda Palma were all impressed on how the whole event was systematically organized.
Fifteen (15) overseas agencies and twenty five (25) local business establishments and companies from Olongapo and Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ) participated in the job fair which offered various vacant positions for the applicants.
Overseas jobs include domestic helpers, caretakers, factory workers and managerial positions while production workers, restaurant service, sales ladies and call center agents were offered by local employers.
Applicants are now currently undergoing a screening process to determine if they are qualified and chosen for the jobs that they applied for.
