LCDO RECEIVES DONATION FROM DOST

The Livelihood and Cooperative Development Office (LCDO) recently received a P128,600 donation from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) as support to Mayor James “Bong’ Gordon Jr.’s livelihood projects for Olongapeños.

The donation will primarily be used to upgrade the packaging and library resource capability of LCDO. This is also part of Mayor Gordon’s program to further advance the livelihood sector of the city.

“Maraming salamat sa DOST! Thank you for supporting Olongapo City at dahil sa kanila nagiging successful tayo,” Mayor Gordon said.

“Maraming beses na rin tayong natulungan ng DOST katulad nung binigyan nila tayo ng multi-purpose drying machine. Dahil diyan, nasusuportahan ang mga products natin,” Mayor Gordon added.

Meanwhile, in celebration of DOST’s Golden Anniversary, a 2008 South Luzon Cluster Science and Technology Fair will be held from November 12 to 14, 2008 at the Olongapo City Convention Center.

“The activity will showcase the best DOST programs and services. Lahat tayo ay invited to see this exhibit,” Mayor Gordon said.

The Science Fair will be holding different activities throughout the event such as forums and quiz bees.

For further information, visit the DOST Office at the 3rd Floor of the Olongapo City Hall.
