MAYOR GORDON RECEIVES PHIL. HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION AWARD
Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. has been chosen unanimously as the only City Mayor awardee nationwide by the Philippine Hospital Association(PHA) Presidential Award of Recognition for “ his leadership to improve health and provide excellent delivery of hospital services for the people of Olongapo and that of neighboring municipalities.”
Dr. Tiburcio Macias, PHA President, informed JLGMH chief Dr. Arturo Mendoza of the award which is based on the comprehensive report submitted by JLGMH to the association which contained complete information of the hospital performance for the past 10 years.
During the flag raising ceremony on October 13, 2008 Mayor Gordon attributed the award to the exemplary performance of the employees of JLGMH as well.
“Kailangan galingan pa natin ang pagpapatakbo ng ating hospital, it doesn’t mean na tapos na, dahil ang HELPS program na ating inaatupag ngayon ay naglalayong iimprove ang serbisyo lalung-lalo na ang mga equipment dyan sa hospital para sa future hindi na tayo pupunta sa Manila para magpagamot ,” Mayor Gordon said.
“Kung kailangan nating manghingi ng donasyon ay gagawin natin o di kaya’y magpapa fund raising tayo upang maimprove pa lalo ang mga kagamitan dyan sa JLGMH, “ Mayor Gordon added.
The award will be presented during the fellowship and awards night of the 59th Annual National Convention of the PHA on November 26, 2008 at six o’clock pm to 12:00 midnight at the Manila Hotel.
