DECADES OF PUBLIC SERVICE

Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. commended two City Government employees for their several decades of service in government on March 9, 2009 during the flag raising ceremony of government employees at the Rizal Triangle Multi-Purpose Center.

On their retirement day, Mayor Gordon awarded certificates of recognition to Abraham E. Alop and Arturo Z. Perez for their dedicated years of service to the public.

Abraham E. Alop was a Public Services Foreman under the Environmental Sanitation Management Office (ESMO). Alop started his government service at ESMO on July 1, 1988 as Payroll Clerk before becoming a Field Inspector. He was recognized for his commitment to his job in his more than 20 years in service.

Meanwhile, more than four decades in service was contributed by Arturo Z. Perez from the Engineering Department. He started his service record as a laborer, plumber then finally becoming a Construction and Maintenance Man. Perez rendered a total of 43 years in service.

“We applaud Mr. Alop and Mr. Perez for their devotion and commitment to the city of Olongapo. Public service is a lifetime calling pero kailangan na nilang ipasa sa mas nakababata ang kanilang mga tungkulin. Tungkulin na nila ngayon ay mag-enjoy kasama ang kanilang pamilya,” Gordon said.
