Anne Gordon and the Center for Women

First and Zambales Vice-Governor Anne Marie Gordon, who is now running for the First District Congressional seat of the province.

It can be recalled that the establishment of the 2-story Center for Women worth 4 million pesos was the brainchild of Vice-Governor Anne Gordon thru the support of her husband, Mayor James “Bong” Gordon Jr.

Against Women (VAW), sexual abuse at human trafficking,” said Anne Gordon.

“Sa mga bumabatikos sa akin kung ano ang aking nagawa sa Olongapo, proud ako na sabihing bilang isang ina at babae ay nakagawa ako ng malaking tulong sa aking mga kabaro sa pamamagitan ng Center forWomen na kauna-uanahan sa Central Luzon,” Anne Gordon said at one of the Bingo Bongah-Anne, Panalo Ka Bayan” project that is being held in the ciity’s different barangays.

Situated in Mayumi St., Barangay Sta. Rita, the Center for Women was first opened to the public on March 8, 2006, the exact date of the celebration of the International Women’s Day. Now, the center serves as temporary shelter to abused women where medical services are readily available along with psychological testing and evaluation, maternal and child care development, self-enhancement skills development, social communication skills development and legal and counseling services to help the disadvantaged women rise up from their crises situation.

For Center for Women assistance, visit the Center or the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) at the 2nd floor of the Olongapo City Hall or call 223-6289.

First Lady and Zambales Vice Gov. Anne Gordon who is now running for the Congressional seat for the 1st District of Zambales said she takes pride in the construction of the Center for Women and Youth Center through her efforts in cooperation with Mayor James ‘’Bong’’ Gordon, Jr.
