SBMA to push implementation of Biofuel law
SUBIC Bay Freeport – Top officials of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority and Senbel Fine Chemicals Co. Inc., the country’s only commercial scale distributor of biodiesel products here, met recently to promote the implementation of Bio Fuel Law.
SBMA Chairman Feliciano G. Salonga, who welcomed the officials of Senbel, said SBMA is currently exploring ways to help promote the use of biodiesel since the Subic Freeport is one of the country’s main entry points of fuel.
“We are closely studying how we can help advocate the thrust of the biofuel law and work closely with groups like Senbel and create a linkage to development,” he said.
Tom Chavez, marketing consultant of Senbel, said Senbel will work closely with the SBMA in creating public awareness of the benefits of bio fuels, promoting public policy and help implement guidelines and to monitor compliance of the Bio Fuel Law. He said bio fuel has two major advantages: consumption savings and development of the coconut industry.
Salonga added that the Subic Freeport would be “one of the first economic zones in the country to help implement the Bio Fuel Law.”
Senbel is a top exporter of high quality chemicals derived from coconut oil and an active proponent of Republic Act 9367. Senbel products also serve as vital ingredients and raw materials for cosmetics, household and laundry care industries. People's Journal
